I’m all for taking precautions against sexual harassment but wow, just talking to women is somehow as bad as groping or following them. I get unwanted conversations all the time but I’m not going to be an arrogant little turd and tell people to be quiet.

I guess that little old lady I just saw on the Central Line who complimented the girl on her nice dress was “not respecting women?

Right? Like the next time I see a fellow shopper trying to decide on a dress, I guess I’ll just save my comment on which compliments their skin tone better even though it’s always been met with big smiles.

You’re all missing the big key word there - “unwanted.” You can tell when someone does not want to engage in conversation with you. And obviously if someone’s happy about a compliment then the compliment wasn’t unwanted. If your comment is making someone uncomfortable and you can tell that its making them uncomfortable, then just stop. its really that simple, not to mention a common courtesy that should be extended to everyone. Stop being intentionally obtuse.

You know, when he first came out I thought his music just sucked and that criticizing him as harshly as he was being criticized was unfair. After all, music is music. What’s shite to one person is auditory heaven to another.

Then, it became apparent that he’s a complete asshole in real life too. That’s when I thought it was appropriate to dislike him as a person. Before, I’d only disliked his music.

Now, it’s apparent that he is, at heart, a cruel person. He wasn’t “just” spoiled. This is who he is. The racism, despite having his career more or less jump started and propelled by black artists. The entitlement towards his fans, despite them being the reason he can be successful. This is who he is. He is a disgusting human being.
